MEDai and MedPlus Inc. join forces
Orlando-based MEDai Inc. announced that it has formed a collaboration with Mason, Ohio-based MedPlus Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics. (NYSE: DGX)
Under the agreement, MedPlus (medplus.com) will incorporate MEDai's (medai.com) predictive modeling methodologies with its Care360 product line, which gives doctors access to patient-specific clinical data, lab order entries, and electronic prescribing via the Internet.
The collaborative effort is targeted at both health insurance plans and physicians.
MEDai's predictive modeling solution, Risk Navigator Clinical, identifies prospective high-risk patients to improve patients' health and quality of care while controlling costs. By adding lab data results to administrative claims data, MEDai will enhance the ability to accurately identify patients at risk early in the disease process.
Company officials say this collaboration will improve access to information at a physician level and offer innovations in the use and accessibility of lab data. Physicians will have real-time access to trends, indicators, gaps in care, and evidence-based guidelines on their patients' condition, helping him to better manage care.
