Wellinx to use RxHub technology

Wellinx has reached an agreement with St. Paul, Minn.-based RxHub to integrate RxHub's capabilities into its electronic prescribing module, the companies announced Monday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The integration of RxHub's PRN and SIG capabilities will electronically route up-to-date patient medication history and pharmacy benefit information to prescribing physicians at the point of care.

"Payer data is a key component of the decision support we deliver to busy physicians," said Wellinx Chief Executive Bryan Dieter, in a statement. "Connecting with RxHub will provide our physician users with broader access to accurate formulary and eligibility data as well as the patient's medication history. This will improve safety and convenience for patients and make physician workflow more efficient."

RxHub LLC provides health-care providers with patient medication history and coverage information.

St. Louis-based Wellinx provides software for physicians.
