Express Scripts unit invests in Moxxi Medical
A Canadian subsidiary of Express Scripts Inc. has made a minority investment in Montreal-based Moxxi Medical Inc.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
ESI Canada invested in Moxxi Medical, which is testing the benefits of an electronic prescription, drug and disease management system. The system, being developed and tested at McGill University in Montreal, is designed to make sure prescriptions are written and filled to deliver the best and most cost-effective care possible.
ESI Canada is a health claim management company with 5.4 million drug plan members and 1.8 million dental plan members.
St. Louis-based Express Scripts Inc. (Nasdaq: ESRX) is one of the largest pharmacy benefit managers in the country.
