MRI's 2004 Mobile Healthcare Conference is Host to Hard-Hitting Competition for e-Prescribing
The National Conference on m-Health and EOE, known for its rich educational program surrounding mobile healthcare and electronic order entry technologies, augmented its 2004 event program with a notable new competition; the e-Prescribing Challenge. The National Conference on m-Health and EOE, presented by the Medical Records Institute (MRI) and the Mobile Healthcare Alliance (MoHCA) took place October 27-28, 2004, at the Reno Hilton in Reno Nevada.
Boston, MA, (PRWEB) November 13, 2004 -– The e-Prescribing Challenge was a hard–hitting comparison of leading healthcare technology companies whose objective is to put this technology into the hands of physicians at the point of care. This informative and compelling competition, which is similar to the Clinical Documentation Challenge held each year at TEPR, featured moderators Barry Blumenfeld MD and Carol Broverman PhD both of Partners Healthcare Systems. Participating vendors included Wellinx, Medicware, and Allscripts.

The Challenge allotted 15 minutes to each vendor, during which they demonstrated their products while incorporating real-time scenarios developed by the moderators. Following each presentation, the moderators posed questions to each vendor and made comments.

This session equipped attendees with the know-how to assess e-Prescribing technologies for their organization and was said to be, "one of the best features of the conference," noted Ron Coots, Assistant Executive Director of Scott & White Hospital & Clinic. Additionally, Steve Herman, a Radiologist at Toronto General Hospital, said that the presentation was “excellent” and he was “very impressed with all the demos and presentations. David Manin, Director of Marketing at First Data Bank agreed that “the presentation was excellent” and he “would like to see more like this”.
