HealthRamp Begins Marketing and Deployment Efforts as a Certified Vendor for the Southeast Michigan Electronic Prescribing Initiative

NEW YORK, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ramp Corporation (Amex: RCO)
announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary HealthRamp, Inc. has become a
certified vendor in the Southeast Michigan Electronic Prescribing Initiative
("SEMI"). The Big Three automakers -- General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co.,
and DaimlerChrysler Corp. -- have joined together with the major insurance
companies in Michigan, and with their Pharmacy Benefit Manager, Medco Health
Solutions, Inc., to promote electronic prescribing. HealthRamp markets
CarePoint, a comprehensive solution for healthcare professionals that allows
the physician and their staff to easily place orders for drugs, refill
prescriptions while interfacing to the physician's practice management system
from a wireless handheld PDA or desktop Internet web browser.
SEMI is an effort to increase quality of care by encouraging the
proliferation of empowering technologies to physicians at the point-of-care.
GM estimates approximately one GM-covered person per day dies because of a
medical error. Additionally, according to recently published information, GM
spends almost $2 billion per year on prescription drugs, another problem that
point-of-care technologies such as CarePoint seek to assist with through
displaying patient-specific formulary information and alternative medications,
at the point-of-care. To encourage physicians to participate in SEMI, a
monetary incentive is given to each physician who enters into a contract with
a certified vendor. Approximately 6,500 physicians qualify for the first
phase of SEMI, with plans to qualify a total of 17,000 physicians over the
course of the multi-phase initiative. SEMI involves some of Michigan's
largest health plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Henry Ford
Health Systems and Health Alliance Plan.
As part of HealthRamp's marketing efforts in Southeast Michigan,
HealthRamp is sponsoring The HealthRamp Sweepstakes. Eligible to physicians
living and practicing in Michigan, each physician who receives an interactive
CarePoint demonstration will be entered into the Sweepstakes, which will run
until December 2005. In January 2006, 3 winners will be drawn, with a 1st
prize of up to $25,000 towards the winners 2006 malpractice premium, and 2nd
and 3rd prizes of up to $12,500 and $5,000 towards the winners 2006
malpractice premiums, respectively. Further information can be found at

"We are pleased to participate in SEMI, as we believe it is the type of
cutting-edge initiative needed to fuel awareness about electronic prescribing,
and drive adoption of point-of-care technologies by physicians. We believe
'safe prescriber' discounts will someday be commonplace when purchasing for
malpractice insurance. Our HealthRamp Sweepstakes is a way for us to give
back to the physician community, in a manner that acknowledges their
commitment to patient safety," stated Ramp CEO and President, Andrew Brown.

Ramp Corporation, through its wholly owned HealthRamp subsidiary, develops
and markets the CareGiver and CarePoint suite of technologies. CareGiver
enables long term care facility staff to easily place orders for drugs,
treatments and supplies from a wireless handheld PDA or desktop web browser.
CarePoint enables electronic prescribing, lab orders and results,
Internet-based communication, data integration, and transaction processing
over a handheld device or browser, at the point-of-care. HealthRamp's
products enable communication of value-added healthcare information among
physician offices, pharmacies, hospitals, pharmacy benefit managers, health
management organizations, pharmaceutical companies and health insurance
companies. Additional information about Ramp can be found at http://www.Ramp.com.
