solutions, today announced that The PennTraffic Company, a leading eastern
U.S. food retailer, has selected NDC PharmacyRx(TM), the company's network-
based pharmacy practice management system geared to community pharmacy.
According to PennTraffic, it chose the new system solution to help to improve
daily operating efficiencies, achieve e-prescribing marketing goals and
enhance ongoing patient safety initiatives.
Under terms of the agreement, PennTraffic will convert from an NDCHealth
legacy system at the 42 PennTraffic store locations that have pharmacies.
Three stores are scheduled to go live on NDC PharmacyRx in July 2005.
NDCHealth expects to complete all installations by September 2005.
PennTraffic cited NDC PharmacyRx's integrated e-prescribing functionality,
electronic signature capture and administrative control of multiple sites as
key to their selection decision.
