LighthouseMD Certified as SureScripts Vendor; Certification Will Facilitate Electronic Prescribing For LighthouseMD's Physician Practice Customers
| PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 2005--LighthouseMD, a leading provider of practice management software and revenue cycle management services to physician practices, today announced that the company has completed the SureScripts certification process and is now a SureScripts Certified Solution Provider. LighthouseMD is one of only 16 vendors certified to work with SureScripts, the nation's largest network provider of electronic prescribing services. This certification enables more than 1,200 physician users of LighthouseMD's Web-based practice management system, CareTracker, to interact with pharmacies using two-way electronic communication. By communicating this way, users will be able to receive renewal requests electronically and transmit new prescription and renewal authorizations directly to a pharmacist's computer, instead of by phone or fax machine. As a result, the prescription process is safer and more efficient.
