Lifetime Health Medical Group to provide e-prescribing - Computer Business Review
Lifetime Health Medical Group to provide e-prescribing - Computer Business Review.
Lifetime Health Medical Group is set to expand its electronic prescribing initiative to serve an additional 30,000 patients. The service will be made available through eScript, the e-prescribing service from RelayHealth Corporation.
The expansion will begin when RelayHealth completes the loading of Lifetime's patient database into the eScript e-prescribing system. The system is currently available to approximately 900 patients, all of whom have access to the full suite of online patient-physician communication tools including appointment scheduling, lab and test results delivery, webVisits and personal health records.
Lifetime's decision to expand its e-prescribing initiative comes in advance of a change in New York Public Health Law that takes effect April 19, 2006 which will require special bar-coded prescription pads. RelayHealth eScript will eliminate the need for these new pads, reducing compliance costs for the group.
