Misys Healthcare Systems, a healthcare IT specialist and InstantDx, a pioneer in electronic prescribing, have combined to offer physicians an online prescribing service.

The system, known as OnCallData, enables providers to write prescriptions and approve refills through any internet connected device. The service also allows physicians to check drug-to-drug interactions, drug-to-allergy interactions, patient eligibility and formulary information.

Tyler Patterson, vice president of Misys, said, "Through this partnership, Misys Healthcare Systems will offer another option to selected markets to support physicians who are eager to adopt e-prescribing tools but who may not be ready to implement a fully integrated EMR solution."
