Healthcare technology company Per-Se Technologies has signed an agreement with Allscripts electronic prescribing solutions to provide enhanced transaction processing services to the healthcare industry.

As part of the agreement, Allscripts will use the Per-Se Intelligent Network to electronically transmit prescriptions from its physician clients to pharmacies. This connectivity service includes formulary and eligibility verification, medical history and other information critical to successful transmission of electronic prescriptions.

In addition, the agreement will allow Per-Se to resell the Allscripts Electronic Health Record (EHR).

"By joining forces, Allscripts will be able to leverage the Per-Se Intelligent Network and a wide variety of ancillary network services to further promote their e-prescribing connectivity initiatives," said Phil Pead, chairman of Per-Se.

"Together with Allscripts, our innovative solutions will help drive greater physician adoption of e-prescribing and EHR solutions which will help improve both the clinical and administrative aspects of healthcare," he continued.
